Good morning! Or is it?
Did you know that studies have proven that if your morning sucks, then your entire day is likely to follow suit? It’s really not that shocking, is it? How we start off our day often projects into how we perceive the rest of the day. Negativity breeds negativity!
There are a lot of ways in which you can start off your day for the better. You can change major things like exercising in the morning or even completely changing your entire routine, but a lot of people can’t or don’t want to change major things in their mornings. The good news is that you don’t have to make major changes in order to brighten up your day. Little things like having a bouquet of flowers on your table will help because it’s one of the first things that you will be presented with when you walk into your kitchen for your first cup of coffee. Even things like the pattern or quote on your coffee cup can put you into a better frame of mind.
When you first wake up you’re in a neutral frame which means that the tiniest thing can sway your mood for good or bad. For this reason, you should put a positive path before you in an effort to sway your mind into staying positive as you begin your day. Set this positive path up before you go to bed at night!
If the garbage will irritate you if you see it first thing in the morning, then take it out the night before.
Set up that vase of flowers after work and place it in an area where you normally sit and have your first cup of coffee.
Don’t leave a sink full of dishes to be seen in the morning.
These little changes can make a huge difference in your day and you’ll leave your house or apartment with a lighter step and a more positive outlook on the day, in general.
